Hygienic weighing for pharma, biopharma, and Life Sciences
Eilersen® digital capacitive load cells provide stable, drift-resistant weight measurement for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other demanding production environments. Unlike traditional strain-gauge load cells, the capacitive sensing principle maintains accurate output even under vibration, shock, and dynamic loading.
As Eilersen’s exclusive U.S. distributor for the life sciences industries, Acuity Process Solutions helps customers specify, integrate, and support load cell systems tailored to their process requirements — from mobile carts and skids to fixed tank and vessel installations.
Choose Your Load Cell Type
Eilersen load cells are available in several configurations, each designed to support specific process requirements and installation architectures.
Beam Load Cells

Ideal for structural frames, skids, and mobile carts where side loads, vibration, or dynamic movement are expected.
Compression Load Cells

Designed for fixed tanks, vessels, and high-capacity vertical load measurement.
Single-Point Load Cells

Compact solution for platforms, scales, and OEM equipment where off-center loading may occur.
Why Digital Capacitive Technology?
Most industrial load cells measure weight by detecting deformation in an elastic element as load increases. The primary difference between load cell technologies lies in how that deformation is measured.
Traditional strain-gauge load cells measure deformation using a foil gauge bonded directly to the elastic beam. Because the sensing element is exposed to the same mechanical forces acting on the beam, measurement stability can be influenced by vibration, overload, and mechanical stress.
Eilersen load cells instead use a non-contact ceramic capacitive sensor to measure deformation within the load cell. Because the sensing element is isolated from mechanical stress, the system maintains highly stable output even in demanding process environments.

High Resistance to Shock, Overload, and Side Load
Because the sensing element is isolated from the mechanical stresses acting on the load cell body, Eilersen load cells tolerate shock, overload, and side loading conditions that commonly occur in industrial and mobile weighing applications.
Hygienic Design Options
Eilersen offers load cells designed for hygienic production environments. Hygienic models feature smooth stainless-steel surfaces that minimize potential product entrapment areas and support effective cleaning. Selected hygienic load cells are designed according to EHEDG guidelines and are electropolished prior to shipment, making them well suited for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other high-purity processing applications.
Fully Digital Signal Output
The digital signal is generated directly inside the load cell. Because the output is digital, the signal is highly resistant to electrical interference and does not degrade over long cable runs.
Dynamic Weighing Performance
Eilersen load cells support high-frequency digital measurement updates, allowing stable readings even in dynamic weighing applications where vibration or movement may affect conventional load cell technologies.
Integrated System Diagnostics
The digital signal enables diagnostics for each individual load cell. During installation, operators can verify load distribution and quickly identify wiring or communication issues if they occur. Individual load cells can also be replaced using the existing wiring.
Integrated Mobile Weighing Systems
Acuity integrates Eilersen load cells into turnkey mobile weighing solutions such as the AccuCart™, enabling precise and repeatable weight measurement without frequent recalibration.
Key benefits include:
-
Weigh in place without moving tanks
-
Resistant to vibration, shock, and overload
-
No recalibration after movement
-
Eliminates bulky floor scales
-
Supports upstream and downstream workflows
Calibration Without Weights or Water

EilerCal™ is a force-transfer calibration solution designed to verify installed tank and vessel weighing systems without water or heavy calibration weights. It enables faster verification, reduces contamination risk, and minimizes downtime in regulated environments.
